Review:
I'm done with Illumination Entertainment. I'm not kidding. This studio produces what should be rated R for its primary viewing audience, children. There is more violence and speaking violently in this film than a purposefully violent film. It's so unfortunate. Moving beyond the morality, it is stupid and limited in every way. Unlike how most animation movies amaze us with the wonder and dignity of life, Secret Life of Pets brings chaos and a disrepect for authority and humanity that is rarely matched in any kind of movie. For those who would tell me to "go easy, it's just pretend." True, but there is something so basic and forumalic for how Secret Life of Pets was created versus the beauty, wonder, and attention to detail we see in other animated films like Toy Story, Mulan, Finding Nemo.

Acting
Kevin Hart who saves this movie from me turning it off, sadly plays to the stereotypical role of a black gangster. Another terrible move by the studio and questionable on his part.
Morality
I'm shocked by the violence, talking of violence, disrespect, hatred toward people, and lack of dignity in any way.
Music
Usually we get something original or wondrous here, but the music in this film only added to the chaos of the entire story.
Story
Pitiful. Made to make money through a basic formula. People love animals + people wonder about what animals do + dogs + Kevin Hart
Visuals
There have only been a handful of animated movies that were average or worse in past several years: Frozen, Bee Movie, and this, Secret Life of Pets.
Kernel Factor
Chaotic. Violent. Rude. Disrespectul. Frustrating. Never again.
