Review:

The challenge of watching a movie when it gets to DVD is that I've usually heard/seen all the hype or lack thereof for the movie I'm about to watch. In this case, Creed has solid hype. Sylvester was nominated for best supporting actor and Michael B Jordan was thought to have been snubbed by not getting a nomination for best actor. In theaters this movie would have been better - plain and simple. There are a few major problems for me about the movie: 1. There are only 3 fights shown, 2. Michael's character never changes in stature, 3. Michael's background is meant to be important but ends up being not important/confusing, 4. Greatest challenge: there's really no depth and it seems put together quickly at times with random scenes or missing elements that would help it be meaningful. Great things: 1. Michael is a good actor and has major potential, 2. The fight scenes are great thanks to the filming and choreography, 3. Sylvester is solid and likeable, 4. Music is well matched
