Review:

Will Smith, well at least Jada, thought he was deserving of an Oscar for this role. Others clowned on his different voice that he uses. I'll be the guy who says both of those opinions are too extreme. I find myself very attracted to true stories, and consequently my ratings show a bias toward them. In this case, not only did I enjoy the movie because it was a true story, but I was also challenged in my thinking about football itself. It's crazy when I actually contemplate grown men hitting each other as hard as possible, endlessly. The ramifications follow them forever. This movie opens your eyes to that reality, in case you hadn't realized before. Will Smith, although not Oscar-worthy in his performance, does a great job playing his character. Since I like sports and have an affinity toward medicine I also enjoyed this movie's storyline. Overall, thought-provoking and interesting.
